Villas in Portugal also offer far more luxury, privacy and comfort than your run of the mill resort hotel will, and often without it even needing to cost much more. In turn, you can get everything you need.

Holiday villas offer the perfect way to find the exact location with the best swells, and many overlook such a simple way of being exactly where they need to be. Whilst staying further away in a specific resort can be overcome by car rental, the extra cost will usually be more than the extra you will pay for a villa, and by having your own accommodation you will have a great deal more room and simply more flexibility of just when you head out for that surf, heading out when the waves are at their best rather than just when you happen to arrive.
